Explore a different side of Europe’s cities: Lufthansa Facebook app offers insider travel tips
SceneSpotter makes city trips a unique experience
Toronto, ON, July 05, 2012 – With the new SceneSpotter app from Lufthansa (http://apps.facebook.com/scenespotter), travelers can now explore Europe off the beaten path. Locals and insiders offer personal travel tips on Lufthansa’s 20 European destinations via the SceneSpotter app on Facebook. It provides travelers in Europe information about interesting sights, culinary highlights and nightlife hotspots that can not be found in any travel guide.
This new feature turns every city trip – whether it’s an art tour through Barcelona or a weekend in Reykjavik with friends – into a unique experience. Users can plan their trip and share their itineraries with friends on Facebook. They can also quickly and easily add their own personal tips or recommend existing tips to other users. Additionally, SceneSpotter can be used to directly book Lufthansa flights and selected private accommodation through the online platform Airbnb.
SceneSpotter launched with 20 of Lufthansa’s European destinations: Barcelona, Bergen, Berlin, Birmingham, Bologna, Budapest, Geneva, Helsinki, Istanbul, London, Milan, Manchester, Moscow, Paris, Reykjavik, Rome, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Vienna and Westerland (on the island of Sylt).
Lufthansa’s Facebook page went live in December 2009. The company offers 24/7 customer service on Facebook, and it also posts photos, videos and news from the world of Lufthansa along with inspiring travel ideas, tips and up-to-date information on everything having to do with flying. In addition to Facebook, Lufthansa is active on other social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube and Xing.
