Lest you think some time has elapsed since my last post, let me just say that we have been a bit busy. In fact, the Jesson team is on fire! In the last month alone we announced the opening of Mill Street Brewery’s newest brew pub in St. John’s Newfoundland. We also launched their entry to the hard root beer category to much acclaim. We marked International Day of Yoga for two clients with stellar media coverage for both. We planned and executed Lufthansa’s 60th Anniversary of service to Canada at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It was a lovely evening resulting in two stories in the Globe and Mail and high praise from our delighted clients. Last week we created two outstanding events for leading developer, The Remington Group, to help launch their new art installation for Downtown Markham, the Pride of Canada Carousel. For that one, the team worked with the Toronto Star to secure front page coverage of the Carousel’s Canada Day public opening!
Meanwhile another team was developing a media day and dinner to introduce Colin Skerritt, the new Director of Tourism for Antigua & Barbuda here in Canada. The island-themed event at the Gardiner Museum was spectacular, winning major kudos from everyone who attended. And it was a who’s who of the travel industry and media without one no-show! We are so proud to add the island destination to our roster of prestigious Caribbean travel accounts.
Then last night we were back at the InterContinental Toronto Centre to launch this year’s Summerlicious menu hosted by hotel General Manager Alexi Hakim. You know you are delivering when a journalist actually tells you how well planned your event is compared to another she had just attended!
As if all of this wasn’t enough, we organized a Toronto media day for Lockheed Martin F-35 test pilot Billie Flynn. Relais et Chateaux property Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in Tofino was covered by The Robb Report, Luxury Travel Magazine, Hotelier Magazine, Architectural Digest, Swanky Retreats and more. We layered that in with some great media reporting on the travel paradise, Anguilla, out-door destination, Colorado and Arbonne, the botanically based line of beauty products. It’s just unbelievable. I couldn’t be more proud of this team.
Led by senior team members Sharyn Thomas, Nicola Blazier and Monica Garcia the quality of work by younger account directors Liam Wilkinson, Shauna Frampton, Harleen Sandhu and others has surpassed every expectation. We have all been supported by our best crop of Humber interns ever — Chloe Collitz, Nicole Spina and Veronica Puistonen. And for any competitors reading this post — don’t even think about a raid. I am so not letting even one of them go! Over the years I have worked with some outstanding talent but I have to say, the team we have here at Jesson right now is quite simply the best. It’s just a pleasure to come to the office. Despite the long hours, the energy, creative thinking and the laughter means none of this feels like work. It just doesn’t get any better.
